About Mike Rendino

Born and raised in the Bronx, Mike Rendino followed in his father’s footsteps and began his career as a New York City firefighter. After the devastating 9/11 terrorist attacks, his FDNY career was cut short when injuries sustained during the relief effort forced him into retirement. Since then, he has continued his life of service as an active member of his community.

A small business owner, Mike has felt the pain of the coronavirus pandemic firsthand, as the economic lockdown shuttered his business and forced him to find creative ways to support himself and his employees. He is well known in the Bronx as one of the owners of the World Famous Stan’s Sports Bar, across the street from the old Yankees Stadium, and the Chairman of the 161st Street Business Improvement District. He has also served on Community Board 4, was Chairman of the Economic Development Committee, and was Merchant Representative of the 161st Street BID.

Mike’s life of service has also led him to get heavily involved in local politics. He is the Chairman of the Bronx County Republican Committee and also served as Commissioner of the Board of Elections, where he rooted out fraud and corruption, most notably the case of Hector Ramirez, who wound up serving time for voter fraud.

A graduate of St. John’s University, he has a degree in sports management. In addition to his tireless community activism, Mike is a loving husband to his wife Lauren and a doting father to three young children.
